In this piece, we wanted to talk about how recreational therapy for military veterans is a great and beautiful way to cope with some of the loss and struggles of being in service. In the three panels, being read left to right, the first panel  starts off with a lemon being squeezed turning into a large scary wave. This was inspired by the fallen soldier table where a lemon and silverware is placed out at a restaurant for Veterans who never made it home. The second  panel, Veterans joining recreational therapy coming together to kayak, build boats, and take photos. This shows the growth that a veteran will have to make to reconnecting with a community in recreational therapy.  The last panel ends with a group of veterans kayaking together in soft calm waters with the war memorial behind them to truly memorialize all of the service that veterans do.
